It is so hard to say with the small amount of description you have given. Like for instance, it would help if you told us about the grade of wood. The type of gun. Are they stamped SKEET, for instance? Do the guns have ribs? Are the chokes original? etc. And yes, pictures would really help. But, good luck.

Nearly all of these were made up guns. Lots of refinishing, re-proofed, re-rolled, etc. I was not impressed in the least.

Sounds like the life's work of a discriminating collector. Doesn't quite seem fair to have them all available to the highest bidder at one auction. The collectors who had to invest considerable shoe leather in their collections are leaving us and their prizes are going to collectors sitting at home staring at a screen.

Reblued Model 12 shotguns are purely "shooter" grade, no remaining collector interest or value. They are each worth something in the $200 - $250 range.

I will try this again. Please bear with me. 12 gauge full choke nickel still barrel. Manufactured in 1931. The gun has been reblued probably 55 years ago. Is in good shape no cracks in stock or forearm.I would appreciate honest opinions of the value. I also have a model 12 in 20 gauge full choke. Manufactured in 1945. This gun was also reblued 55 years ago,is in good shape. Model 12 in 16 gauge modified choke. Manufactured in 1951,gun was reblued 55 years ago. They have been used and have bluing worn off in places. All stocks and forearms in good shape. I can"t upload the photos. I appreciate you comments and opinion of the value of these shotguns

What is the serial number?

Did you use the Date of Manufacture look-up resource here on the WACA website? - Dates -Winchester Collector

If your Model 12 was actually manufactured in the year 1935, the barrel is not original to the gun.

As of your last post, you have not yet mentioned what the graded condition of the gun is... hard used guns are hard to sell at any price, whereas a gun in excellent graded condition has potential value. Field grade (standard) Model 12 shotguns are the most common and have the least amount interest and value. Conversely, the Skeet and Trap grade guns can be quite valuable.

Winchester was not using Nickel Steel alloy barrels in the year 1935. What is the serial number? What is the barrel length & choke marking? Standard (Field) grade gun, or something else. Quite frankly, you need to post several clear detailed pictures of the gun before anyone can begin to assess the potential value.

I doubt that they will give out personal info. Buy, they may contact the person for you.

I second Chuck's suggestion. What I would add is for the OP to draft a letter to the unknown presumptive owner of the Model 21 in question. Attach photographs of the case and spare barrel set, to prove good faith.

Then call Cody and secure their cooperation, advise them of your letter and get the name of the Cody staff person to send it to, along with a check to Cody as a donation to cover their time and postage.

They might help you if you call them instead of going through "all that trouble" but my experience with asking for favors from institutions thinks otherwise. Doesn't have to be much money but it will improve the atmosphere and sweeten the disposition of the staff person.

Winchester manufactured many different shotgun Models in 12-ga... e.g. Model 1911, Model 1912, Model 21, Model 24, Model 25, Model 37, Model 40, Model 50, Model 59...

Hi! I recently came across the original A&F case, hang tag and set of 28" interchangeable barrels found on the letter for Winchester Model 21 #8768 and would like to reunite them with the current owner. Any help here would be appreciated! For what it’s worth, Cody said a letter was pulled as recent as the fall of 25’ for this item. I can be reached at 937-604-1374 - thanks!
