Your drawing is a little pixelated! I like mine better because its not so pixelated, its older (1908), and plus its in French! So why not?

It is critical that the 351 cartridge is reloaded to factory specifications. The blow-back action will not function properly with loads that are too light, and if too heavy, they will damage the action (buffers).

Bert, do you know whether the 351 was intended to headspace on the case mouth or the vestigial rim?
Speaking of modified Model 1895's, I am interested in Lot 3053 in the upcoming Rock Island auction. It is Serial No 1949, a Flatside musket listed with a Stevens-Pope replacement barrel. Can anyone tell me anything about Stevens-Pope replacement barrels and why this rifle may have been re barreled in this manner?

Pope was the premier target barrel maker in the late 1890's and early 1900's. He worked for Stevens from about 1901 to 1906. Target rifles usually have longer barrels.

Looks like a nice honest and clean M-1873, (third model), Antique rifle in the .38 wcf caliber. Not sure what the three engraved, yet nice looking, "M.S.W.", stands for, if I got it correct. It's also nice to have the letter with it. No mention of the 3 engraved letter on the brass elevator, on the letter, as you mentioned.

Nice find!

Thanks for sharing.
