I mean, I need to get the folding table out myself and probably wipe down all the ones in the back for sure. It's a pain to unload that section of the safe where they stack in and block each row behind the next!

Thanks, George. Went safe-diving today to answer a question and as luck would have it, the safe was nearly empty when I reached the gun I was wanting to look at. Maybe with the long weekend we will hear about more adventures in members' safes.

Need some advice from y'all. I ordered a "pre-64 top eject front sight cover, carbine, reproduction" from Numrich gun parts (product #294550C) for my 1977 Winchester 94. Came it today, installed it and it looks REALLY low and smaller than I expected. See photos. There's very little clearance between the top of the front sight post and the hood, and just the overall sight picture now looks crowded. Is this the correct size hood? Is that little of clearance normal? I"m used to Marlin 336 "wide scan" sight hoods that have like triple the area in the sight picture.

Looking around collector shows is like a good news/bad news joke for me. At 66, I'm often younger than a sizeable percentage of the folks there and that was certainly the case 11 years ago. I think we're losing old folks faster than we're gaining young folks but some clubs, e.g. WACA, seem to be holding steady. It's hard to say if that's the case with the collecting community at large but the outlook seems as gray as our demographics.

Picked up this Excellent condition 1977 Model 94 last week. Took it to the range first time today. Shot 150 gr. Remington Core-loct and 160 gr. Hornady Leverevolution. Only shot at 50 yards but this is basically zero'd at 50 yards, which will mean it should hit about 1.25" high at 100 yards. The slightly to the left grouping I attribute right now to my trigger control (I'm a southpaw). Top 3 shots were Remington & first group, dropped the rear sight a few notches and then put 7 shots (3 more Rem., 4 Hornady) in a nice tight group. Was holding the front sight bead at the very bottom of the black. Pretty pleased given was just using a sandbag rest & my old 50+ year eyesight. Will take it to 100 yards next time and see if I need to drift the front sight a tad or not.

I agree with you George! I’m afraid we are the last generation who may really appreciate the lever actions at least to the extent we do. We grew up watching the westerns, John Wayne and Chuck Connors and sadly I got young people in my office who don’t even know who John Wayne is! Much less Chuck Connors 😢
The high end ones likely keep their value but not sure the rest doesn’t lose value if the buyer pool shrinks! Just my opinion though.

I've been hearing this now for awhile, and can agree with it mostly. In fact for many years this has been said now, and with all the truth to it, we are seeing some younger historical interest in the hobby, to possibly and maybe keep it going.

We here at WACA, sure try to keep it going!

I’ll probably leave instructions for my wife, two girls and grandkids to each pick a favorite, and the rest will probably go to auction, but that’s not an arena that I’m familiar with at all, and would have no idea which one to trust. Most of my guns have just been bought directly from people in my area. In my lifetime I’ve only purchased one rifle online, and I could count on one hand the number that I’ve purchased at shows. I travel rural areas of Northern Michigan for my work, and many of my clients are older with generational family farms and orchards. Guns have a way of falling out of their closets…😂😂😂.
