OfflineI have always wanted a nice antique 1892 in 44wcf but prices on these seem to be $5000 + in nice condition. I was watching this gun on a 14 day auction on Gunbroker with a $3000 opening bid and no reserve. The pics were marginal at best so I asked and received a couple of good pics. The gun was clearly nicer than the 50% the seller had described in his auction but I couldn’t come up with enough scratch! I told him I would contact him if it didn’t sell and I couldn’t believe it when no one bid. In short I got it for considerable less than the opening bid and am still on Winchester cloud nine! Definitely not pristine but not much use either….excellent bright bore with a few light pits in the grooves. I bet it will be a tack driver….

OfflineI too like this one. Lots of case color left in this old lady. My 1902 vintage 44 doesn’t quite make antique status, but it too is a beautiful rifle albeit a round bbl. For a guy with 25 M94’s, I surely love the M1892’s. I only have 4 M1892’s. Just too expensive for me. Nice rifle. Big Larry

The first photo looks like it does not even have the rear sight dovetail. Cant’ be sure but, a better photo of the barrel would be nice to answer that question. It would be nice to see if a Cody letter states "no rear sight dovetail". A real nice find at a great price.
