Here's My take on "fees" , eg: a Winchester with a real collector value of $10,000.00 sells at auction for that amount. breaking it down , sellers premium at 20% He gets $8000.00 , auction house $2000.00 , buyers premium at 25% house gets $2500.00. taxes at .13% (Canada), plus shipping handling etc. The house comes out with $4500.00+, the seller with $8000, the gov't with $1300.00, but the buyer, (poor guy) , ends up with $14125.00+ in a $10,,00.00 gun. The auction house is the only winner here, I, the buyer shoulda just offered the seller $9000.00 or payed the $10,000.00 and We'de both been ahead. Personal real experience, I just purchased a 1890 at R.I.A. for (hammer price) $2500.00 , total cost to Me $3,685.00 U.S.. I just bought a 1890 privately $2,975.00 shipped, total cost to Me $2,975.00U.S.. I think We should be talking with each other more and paying less attention to the auctions, We, sellers and buyers, would be a lot of $'s ahead and We would have a lot more gun shows again.

A buyer's premium is an extra percentage fee added to the winning bid(hammer price) at an auction which the buyer is required to pay.

The grade of the Walnut and the checkering pattern. Semi-deluxe (not a term Winchester used) typically have plain (straight) grained walnut stocks with I-pattern checkering. The Fancy Sporting Rifles will have 2X or 3X walnut stocks with H-pattern checkering.

Interesting, but not too surprising. I suspect that more than just years 1911 & 1912 saw similar barrel rework. The trick to identifying the rebored barrels is rather simple... standard 32-40 and 38-55 barrels were not Nickel Steel. If you find a 1912 (or later) 32-40 or 38-55 with a Nickel Steel barrel, the odds are good that it was a rebored 30 WCF or 32 WS barrel.

I would love to know more detail about this. Apparently, in 1911 and early 1912, Winchester had a large quantify of .30 WCF and .32 W.S. barrels that did not pass the quality control process (I wish I knew why) and rather than discard them, they repurposed them by boring them to a larger chambering. So, the .30 WCF barrels got rebored to .32-40 and the .32 Special barrels got rebored to .38-55? Why weren't the .30 WCF barrels rebored to .32 Special? I've never heard of this before. I assume if they did indeed rebore these barrels, that work would be undetectable and we would have no way of knowing whcih 94's they went on?
