Yes, it has been previously surveyed. However, I did not document the barrel steel alloy. Does it have a "Nickel Steel" or a "Proof Steel" barrel? Can you also check the barrel date?

Thanks so much. It's a new one for my data. 1953 production and about 2000 rifles before the receiver top began to be grooved for a scope mount.

Can you tell me if it has a knurled or a serrated hammer? The date of manufacture was late March 1948.

It has a knurled hammer.

Thanks. S/N 26237 was manufactured during the transition of the two hammer types, and it helps nail down a closer date when the change was made.

Here are 2 that I have and both are lettered. Both bought by the NWMP in the same order. One is all original and the other was restored by Turnbull before I bought it. 40008 and 40012. They are a great pair! Let me know if you need anymore info on them.

I have just a little bit of info regarding an 1876 I tried to buy but the owner wants to keep it. He said it is a standard 1876, no special features, 45-60, blued, 28" barrel, full length mag, SN 7025. Hope this helps. Don
