If your wife can't make it you can always pitch your tent and shoot from inside. Not only will it catch all your brass but you will also be in the shade. Make sure to keep the muzzle outside though or the window flaps fly up like Dumbo's ears every time you pull the trigger, just sayin'.....

Bert

I loaded some Hornady Spire Point 180's when I thought the big piggies needed a bit more killing than their 165 delivered. Cool thing was the 165 and 180 had almost same point of impact at 100 yards so no need to re-zero or allow for the different bullets.

I bet they are. Most of my .308 caliber supply are the Sierra 150-gr bullets. I load them for two of my 30-06 rifles, and for my Springfield 30-40 Krag rifle. The heavier bullets are for my 30-60 Benchrest rifle. I load the 180-gr and 220-gr for both of my 30-40 Krag high-wall Single Shot rifles. Somewhere deep in my ammo box I still have a box of (20) that my grandfather loaded using 90-grain M1 Carbine bullets back in the 1960s. I remember shooting some of them as a kid... no recoil, but a LOT of muzzle flash!

For those who haven't had the pleasure (?) Of trying to load ten .351 Winchester Self Loading cartridges into one of the skinny extended magazines Winchester made up for law enforcement and guard duty, it makes wrestling a greased pig easy by comparison. Those springs have not weakened over the Decades.

I called around to see if anybody made a mag loader that might fit. The only polite answer I got was. "Whut's thet?"

So I went to my shop and designed The Little Wonder. It consists of two parts, the Clamp and the Poker. The Parts illustrated are made of Maple.

The reason the Poker is left long is to keep it out of your eye if your hand slips or the Clamp is inadequately tightened. At worst, it will get chewed up a little by a ceiling fan.

Tomorrow, my 07 is going to get loud at the range or I will know the reason why it won't. The Caldwell Brass Trap will be tested, too. In case it doesn't work, I'm bringing my wife to mark down and retrieve brass. (I haven't shared this with her.)
