I lost my best friend in 2004.  We were classmates,  hunting and camping partners for Decades. Odd thing was, I never shed a tear for him until I handed over his application for probate to the court clerk and mentioned to her how much I would miss him. That started the waterworks, to the extent it brought the judge out of his chambers. Grief is a funny thing and sometimes comes on cat feet. 
That is when I decided it didn't cost a nickel more to believe I was going to be a Centenarian, no matter how many friends fell off the twig. 
I expect to keep CCI in business until that hearse horse shows up to haul my bones away. 
  

Bill - Good for you.  I have been noticing you have clearly been walking the walk. I'll try to channel your inspiration.  I happen to be going to the grocery store in a few minutes - maybe I'll buy a bunch of green bananas.

I must say, however, that having a 'lifetime' supply for myself, I haven't really kept a close watch on these prices day-to-day.

You heat the brass just to the point where it turns orange or stars giving off an orange glow.  DO NOT quench it.  Quenching hardens the brass.  Air dry only. Watch some of these videos.

I wondered about that. My knowledge of metals chemistry is very limited but I know a water quench renders metals hard and brittle, to some degree.

Since beginning to reload in the mid-Sixties, I've read about annealing techniques during which the heat is killed by knocking the cases over into the pan of water used to protect the heads.  I think people do it to speed up the process and make room for more cases

My Dad was trained to work metal as a machinist and welder. He thought the annealed portion of the cases should air cool to stay dead soft. 

I use a small rechargeable drill and proper size socket to anneal with. Hand held torch and a slow turn does the job nicely. With a pair of tweezer to remove the brass, set on a extra board or the like, cuz I found that sometime the brass head is hot enough to leave a mark on the table.

Excellent suggestion and I just tried it this morning.  A more consistent heating and far easier on my bare fingers! Thank you.

If this rifle locks up on a live round at the THIRD range session, I'm on the phone to Vatican City for their #1 exorcist. I've exhausted every possible cause except demonic possession. 

Should the Rite of Exorcism fail,  the resident demon better get his asbestos underwear on becsuse I'm not to be messed with. I have plenty of Mesquite kindling and there's a lot more where it came from.
