Useful pictures would be the muzzle, the proof marks, the mounting holes and an overall picture of the rifle and stock.  Also, what is the barrel length?  And what is the measurement center to center from the rear mounting base to the front?

This information is what defines what you have.

Thought only the 677 were made for a factory scope.The Proof mark is set to the side not on top.
What might I have?? My Herbert Houze book has nothing on this.

An other weird thing is it has Belgium Proof marks on it with serial numbers stamped on it.

FWIW, the rifle in that old GI listing is not wearing a Winchester 52-C stock.  It has no Monte Carlo comb (which a C Sporter should have) and the cheek piece has a shadow line (which neither the 52-B nor 52-C Sporters have)--- which leads me to conclude that the stock is someone's custom creation.  
On the plus side, that rifle has the integrally forged front sight ramp.  So it's not really an apples to apples comparison.

You are absolutely right and have a much better eye than mine.  I was too focused on the pad.  Given the seller's alleged tendency to commingle (at the least) funds, I'm not sure how much to trust the description but the barreled action is said to be a 1956 d.o.m. --  which is about right at s/n 86,873C. 

So what we've got is a fairly early production (integral ramp) C in somebody's idea of a B stock, with what looks like a 48F. I can't see the front sight well enough to identify it. The contour of the hood at its muzzle end looks wrong for a #3279/H but perhaps that is lens distortion. 

If I hadn't jumped the gun and had examined all the photos more carefully, I would have seen what you point out - the stock is a fairly crude reproduction of a "B" stock. My guess is it was at least partially turned on a duplicator. As you say, the cheekpiece has a shadow line but it is also not fully developed.  The wrist has the same flattened look seen on end-of- the-bolt pre-64 Model 70 stocks that were machine checkered. 

Throwing the stock away but saving the sling gear and sighting equipment, we've got a barreled action and magazine. Parted out, that hardly adds up to 4 grand in 2021 Dollars.

[For others new to this thread,  a 2021 Guns International listing has photographs of a 1956 vintage Model 52C Sporting that had been restored. What caught my eye and started this thread was the rifle in the photos of the listing is wearing the same thin, brown solid Pachmayr pad as mine. I never thought a doppelganger could exist. One three-headed toad in the World is unsettling; that there might be two was unimaginable.]

Steve,  I called Guns International a few minutes ago and learned that restored 52C listing was  a 2021 listing and the asking price was $3,950.00 USD. No way to know what it actually sold for but I'd assume some further discount. Even so, a price > $3.5k speaks to the rarity of the C version.  I know something about Kimber of Oregon Super America grade rimfires. An 82B in that grade with 99% condition can be had for that kind of money and it's much more gun.

I knew I'd seen that pad before!  That little Weatherby automatic was just dripping with Pininfarina attitude, about as inconspicuous as a 4-alarm fire! If Il Commendatore had ever owned a squirrel rifle, it would have looked just like that. A lease partner of mine owned one and had a 10-round magazine for it. It was very accurate and cut down a lot of Prickly Pear fruit. And a couple of corn feeder-raiding raccoons. 

Yes, the LOP on 99076C looks more like 14.125 than 13.50 although my wife's cloth tape was not made by Starrett or Brown & Sharpe.

If I were obsessed with originality,  there are only two possible choices for the rifle.

1. The Model 70 checkered steel, one of which is in my kit. 

2. The plastic one I've illustrated using Steve's photo (and to my jaundiced eye, so in-your-face-cheap it's appropr.iately Number Two.) 

It might be possible to determine which one the factory installed on my rifle, if removing the pad revealed the location of the original screw holes. I think they were spaced slightly differently. 

However, there are some things not even a lab rat or a lawyer will do. Installing Number Two on my 52C is one of them. 

I'll keep the Beretta look for the time being.
