George, your rifles look great! I love your discerning taste and don't see any obvious red flags in the bunch.
You need to find a pair of pre-war 75 sporting rifles to match your post-war set. The pre-war sporting rifles have finer checkering and a bit nicer finish, you will like them!
Thanks for posting the eye candy and promoting the previous book! The book on the 56 and 57 should be done in the next few months so you will have a whole other avenue to collect.
Best Regards,
Very nice! I have two shooters (Sporting and Target) and an original Target. I prefer the classic lines of the 75 Sporting over other similar rimfires and my Target models probably get to the range more than any other 22 in my collection. I'll see if I can find some pics but you're setting the bar pretty high!

I tried to improve the pics. with not much luck! I was able to refocus this one with the serial number, #12031! I still can't get the other one to stay straight with the under barrel markings that are important.

A few years back I decided that I would try to jump on the Winchester rim fire bandwagon, and started casually looking for high condition examples of each model. I’d pick up one here or there and eventually started to accumulate a pretty good pile. The 75 was kind of elusive though. I happened by JWA’s table at the Cody show and mentioned that I was looking for a nice one. He quickly pointed me over to a table manned by Seewin, and after a few minutes I was the proud owner of a beautiful Sporter. After that, they seemed to find me and were popping up regularly so I now have a decent group (maybe too many 😂). I hope Jeff will take a look and point out anything that may stand out to him. I have noticed that since his book was released, prices have come up a bit so I guess it’s increasing collector’s interest.

Serial Numbers from to to bottom:

82382

42158

This one is one of the more important pics to try to decipher what he has here, as the "27", is obvious verifying the year mfg. as 1927, and the "C", is obvious in the beginning, some proof marks, and a punch Dot, but after the caliber designation of the .22 L, maybe some better pictures in natural light can tell us what that says, as it's hard to make out, even blowing it up on the phone.

Darn thing turned again!

Edited; I was able to re look at the picture again and I can plainly see, a "C", (sideways), an upside down "C", (inside a circle), then 22 LONG R, (this is what I was questioning earlier), the triangular proof mark, a "Punch Dot", followed by a "27" , and then finally an alignment hash mark at the receiver.

Here's some of the pics he sent over, as the last couple seemed to turn, as I kept them small for the proper size to view here. Sure looks like someone made a nice custom stock for this early Pre A. Picture of the original Belding & Mull 5x scope. That the current owner removed, but still has along with the blocks and such.
