Visited one of my favorite gun shops today. Since I've been away for the last two weeks I asked "what's new that's old...?"... I was pointed to a display case... a nice Winchester 62A... in it's matching numbered box... not "new in the box", but pretty close. I asked how long it had been on display, "two weeks" the reply came... I asked "are you open to a serious cash offer?"... yes was the answer... I offered, he accepted. I handed him the money and then asked "are there any more?"... yes was the answer again. 🙂 But they wouldn't be out till next Tuesday... I asked for "first shot" and three times the charm... his response was "yes, you've got first shot"... can't wait till next Tuesday... a minty Win 61 in 22 WMR and two 1890's... no boxes though...

The PR records show the last serial number applied on the specified date. S/N 1643 would have been applied sometime in mid April 1932.

I have a Winchester Model 250- I am trying to determine if it is a Deluxe or not. I have been told that it is and told that is not. I called Winchester to seek help verifying if it is a Deluxe of not and I was told that the serial number listed is past what they have records for. They customer service agent asked me to describe the rifle and he said he believed it to be a deluxe, but could not be 100% certain. Serial number starts with 630XXX.

The stock has checkering on the forend and on the grip. It does NOT have a monte carlo cheek piece. It does have the white spacer between the butt stock and the butt plate. Barrel says "Winchester" 22 SL or 22 LR Model 250 and under Winchester it says Made in USA. There are no other markings that I see on the barrel.

Any help is appreciated.
