Seems the rimfire bug is pretty common around here. No known cure but the palliative care plan includes cruising shows and gun shops so it's not at all unpleasant.

Nice display!

I’m actually going back to the store tomorrow. I ordered an ammo cabinet, and I need to pick it up. I’ll take another look, but since I caught the rim fire bug 6 or 7 years ago, I’ve really tried to focus on “high condition” examples of each. Here’s a few more from my collection….

So it’s actually only 30 year's old. Must be why it has so much condition.

I was walking out the door to go to the office the other day. As we said goodbye, my wife said, "I have a hair appointment today at 4:30, want to come along and go to dinner?" Now, I've been married long enough to know that the next word out of my mouth could potentially come back to haunt me. "Sure"....I exclaimed "I'll pick you up this afternoon". So, off we went......

Once I dropped her off at the salon, I knew that I had about two hours to kill between the cut, color, and whatever else they do in there. I decided to check out the local Sportsman's Warehouse because I've been wanting to buy a couple of new trail cameras. Once inside the store, I quickly found the cameras that I like, and with plenty of time left I decided to explore. Across the store I could see some gun racks so I decided to take a look. I had never been in this store before, and I didn't even know that they sold guns. From a distance I could see a rack that appeared to hold about a dozen used guns. I was quite surprised to see four old Winchester .22s together in a group, three 1890s, and a 1906. Most all of them has pretty serious condition issues, but one of them stood out like a Prom Queen. I picked it from the rack. looked it over, and immediately noticed that the price was pretty reasonable. I asked the kid working the department if they would accept offers. "Yes" he replied....offer away! I made an offer, he made a phone call, they countered my offer, and just like that, I had a new member of the family. The rifle looked as though it hadn't had a good cleaning in years, but I was excited to get started on it. After a little gentle TLC, I think she's pretty nice........
