Once again I'm in agreement with you, and remember you saying this. I feel we're the Era that's kinda in a transitional information period, and it's almost our duty, to do much of what members like yourself has been doing, and educating the masses.  Showing the factory letters id important.

In RIA's defense, I give them credit for bringing this to light.

Another way to look at this is to not even try to educate the past Madis quotes, and just list it as a year 1900 manufactured SRC!

Again, at least RIA, is listening to the many calls, from the members here, with the many hours of up dated information, from the timeless surveys and dedicated searches that are constantly being done.

If you could, closeup photos of these views would be very useful:

A view of the side (an elevation view)

A view of the top (a plan, or dorsal, view)

A view of the inside (an antral view)

A view of the inside, from either end.)

What I would propose to do is to take your photos and measurements and annotate the photos with the measurements, using Photoshop. Then, post the annotated photos here with full credit to you. 

If you would undertake the task, I'll PM you my personal email to receive the jpeg images. By all means, go ahead and post the measurements and your photos here directly, as well.

Be warned though the listing is kind of broken, it won't combine shipping if you buy more than one. Just call their store in Ocala, FL and they'll ship for $7 no matter how many. I have the number if you need it.
  

There were actually four (4) pre-64 Winchester factory sight hoods, designated, from low to high.
#3276 for the Model 94 and others
#3277 for the 24" Model 64 and a few others
#3278 for the Model 70 except for some obsolete calibers,.and 71.
#3279 for the Model 52 Sporting
JWA has published a comprehensive chart showing measured dimensions of these except for the #3279, specimens of which nobody could find to measure. 
The #3276 and 3278 are by far the most common, although genuine WRA parts are expensive. 
Seewin has said the 3278 actually looks better on the 52 Sporting and that is what I have on my 52C Sporting. 
I would want to know whether the Ocala relicas are made of formed spring steel or if they were investment cast. My experience tells me investment cast pieces that thin are too fragile.

I have a high condition 52B Sporting, that wears what I assume is the original front sight hood. If it’s helpful to you or Jeff or anyone else, I’m happy to dig it out for confirmation of originality, and measurements. 

That flavor isn’t what I actively seek either, but a deal is a deal… especially when it comes to Winchesters.

So being the soft hearted fool that I am. I had a friend from work call me last week asking if I would be interested in a couple Winchesters. Well my spidy senses kicked in at that point and requested pictures. He sent them, I looked, I asked how much, deal was stuck. Low and behold turns out there both post war 94 eastern carbines. And I was happy to find a 47 flat band in 30wcf and a 48' in 25-35. Hope I didn't do bad on this deal?

Tom,  I will be happy to help.you purge yourself of this Deadly Sin. Put those ill-gotten carbines away from you.
