While target ammo is generally uncoated, there are some copper-coated .22LR, such as CCI Mini-Mag, and Remington Golden Bullet is brass plated. Both are fine for plinking, and could account for a bit of green tint on a patch.

I can understand how you got some GREEN on the patch with the swift . . . .but the M52 is a 22 LR rifle, and no jacketed ammo could be used in it, therefore, where did the “green” come from? Maybe from a brass cleaning jag??

Thanks fellas. Goes to show, don't overlook your LGS!! I've found a few of my nicest Winchesters at my LGS and the prices were the most reasonable. For instance, here's a couple more I found at the LGS over the years. That Model 70 super grade "RCS" African has been my greatest LGS find of all-time.

Very nice Don. I've been a fan of 20 ga. since day 1 of my shooting career. Many pots have been filled with that charge. I never did acquire a model 12. I'm envious.

Thanks Bert. I have about 3 cases of 20 gauge shells and had no 20 gauge shotgun to shoot them in. Problem solved!!

Stopped by my LGS today and couldn't pass up this Model 12 with a factory solid rib in 20 gauge. Manufactured in 1950 and in about 95% condition. Out the door for $500!!
