This has been their policy for years. Only the format of the auction web site has changed. Once years ago, it went to 8 AM. Erick Ward does not own the Auction anymore. I believe that family members do?

We're looking forward to it Jeremy. At least better photos than Wards posts! They're lack of photos sure ups the Gamble, as far as bidding on they're sight. At least as far as I'm concerned.
Hoping that you're happy with you're purchase. I saw those, but didn't need another one, as was said they're usually beat up and saw hard use as an early boys rifle.
Makes me wonder why the lack of photos on they're part. Lazy? Hiding something? Sneaky? Naturally, this takes time to do, and they're not willing to go the extra mile. IMO!
Makes it harder to bid on they're firearms. Yeah you might be able to sneak one or more out, as the lack of photos creates an issue for the non gambler type!

Yeah, I'll gamble a little on the lower priced stuff but not on anything big! Most of their auctions have too few photos, L-R and Top-Bottom, that's it, so I don't believe it's an effort to hide anything, at least not on all of them. Has to be a speed/efficiency thing but yes, if they'd put that effort into good photos and more of them, they might not need that gimmicky timing system to influence bidding!

The thing I like about this market sector is that the incentive for turning a sow's ear into a silk purse is small, as you know. That doesn't preclude a period upgrade but I think Jeremy is developing a good feel for these auctions. I like the looks of the 1902. I suspect while others are cussing the system he's gaming it. I know a little something about that. The main reasons I (finally) made the Texas PPC Governor's Twenty was because we shot the match in the rain and everyone hated the furnished ammo. I twisted the RP rep to furnish the ammo at the previous state match and I shot my first PPC match many years before in the rain. I sighted my "duty" gun in with the prescribed ammo and eschewed my sight smoke and shooting glasses. I outshot some better shooters that day. Good job, Jeremy. I think you'll be pleased when the UPS guy tosses that box into your driveway!

Same here, but I can gamble with that amount I guess. I figured they are all about their guarantee of "accurate descriptions by experts" in their terms, so if I don't like it because the finish doesn't seem as original as stated, I imagine I can hold their feet to the fire. I'm going to try and have them shipped in the same box to lower the shipping a little too. I'll report back!

I looked at a few Woodsman's and some Winchesters. Their photography is not good... what appears to be wear is often just reflection. I had to keep reminding myself to add the juice, shipping & handling to the price... end result were prices that fell into the market norm. That said, I do know that there are those who have "stolen" some very nice items from this auction company in the past... 🙂

...so ended 0230 hours my time (CST)...still too late to watch it go! At first I forgot about their new format and all the complaining everyone was doing previously when it changed. When I saw the 30 second "countdown timer" keep resetting I thought "what a crazy glitch!"

Yeah hopefully it is as original as they say! I got the model 1900 with the pressed "WINCHESTER" wood buttplate as well.

Me too! I hate this format. Huge pain the butt if you are watching more than a few items and it is crazy they didn’t create a watch list. I think the auction house chose to end the entire auction only when the last item sells so they can move a ton more items at one time. One need only compare how many items they auctioned off over 7.5 hours last night versus what the 3 full days the big auction houses take to sell off much less! They have great service but their format is certainly the worst for us east coast guys! 3:30am is a young man’s game.
