The problem is if the gun is not permanently identified someone will want to shot it, probably not in your country but these guns move to different countries and it could end up back in the US and be fired.  Paper documents gets separated from guns all the time when the owner passes and the estate sells them.

I think I'm going to need a locking bolt stop pin screw. And possibly the stop pin and friction stud stop pin.

I've looked all over online for these parts, and all I can find is parts for the Japan made models.

Will these parts interchange? And if not, a possible source for the correct parts?

You have created a potential injury. I don’t think it’s safe to shoot as repaired.  It doesn’t sound like you will fire it but this “repair” plus the fact it can chamber a round suggests to me unsuspecting parties down the road could fire it and be seriously injured.

The issue here, is theoretically it could be sold to a free person in America, where said person could chamber a round and have a very bad day

Burgess (1884) discusses Winchester rifles for use in Africa and India.  The book is described:  "Ideal for readers planning or enjoying outdoor hunting in hot climates, and for anyone seeking a solid, no-nonsense introduction to Sporting Fire-Arms for Bush and Jungle."  You can get a reprint of this book from Amazon.

It sounds like your rifle is a standard Express rifle with 26 inch round barrel.  Many English owners preferred 22 inch barrels and special sights.  You have a fine conversation piece and collector firearm.
