Assuming your gun has a plain trigger you have three things that can cause or affect trigger pull; trigger, hammer, and main spring tension. The main spring strain screw is adjustable and located on the lower tang, turn the screw in to increase tension. If it's the trigger / hammer and both parts are clean it may require replacement or a skilled man with a file. T/R

Would a broken trigger spring cause this? Or has someone altered the trigger and sear?

Just wondering what might all be involed in correcting this issue.

It has about a 1/4" of free play, then about a 12lb pull. Does anyone make an aftermarket trigger for this rifle?

Or can someone recommend a compitent gunsmith for a trigger job. Thanks.

I emailed him from the link on the website and asked if he had the specific trigger I needed

he replied that he did and linked the order form from the website. I filled it out with part I needed and payment information.

after a week I emailed Bob because I hadn’t seen any emails or had my card charged. He replied that he did send an email when he processed my order. I just didn’t see it. He had also been sick for most of the week and wasn’t working.

it was another week and my payment processed. And another 5 days I received the correct part in the mail.

incase I added a week in there typing. It was 6-11 from first email to 6-29 received

good experience. I’d recommend. Make sure you establish contact before submitting your order form just to be safe.

Mike speaks the truth... I made it a point to talk to the "old timer" gunsmiths that I ran across...many were a bit grumpy when first encountered. But over time they softened. As we became friends, I would ask if they wanted me to look for parts / sights / etc. that they hadn't been able to locate. I would be given specific instructions. I would call to let them know I picked up whatever they needed or, gave them the name of the place that had it. I made it a point to only accept whatever I paid... my intent was to let them know I was a valuable resource. As time went on, when I called to ask questions about how to fix something, they would say, "just bring it over"... soon, it would be fixed (for a minimal charge) and then we would visit and talk about fishing, hunting and maybe guns. Most of those "old timers" are gone now, several of their spouses contacted me after their passing and offered the parts inventories at a pre-set price by the gunsmith. I never turned one down. I sure miss those guys... they all had amazing talent, some were wizards with a lathe & file. Honestly, I miss them all greatly. I'm now at the place where I'm the "old timer"... I must admit that I find it humorous when people come to me with questions... I don't know 95% of the time... but I do try to point them to those that do. Enjoy the journey, make friends along the way... and always buy the gun and not the story! Cheers! Ben
