Fellows. I posted a tip that was expensive for me to learn. I own no stock in the product I recommend. I have no financial interest in the product. I figured I was doing this group a favor? Then Bert sends me a massage that he wants me to post before and after photo’s of the results. Like I am selling something or lying. I don’t care if you try it or not, but it should be you that make that decision.. He probably won’t post this message either? He is impugning my integrity. I fought for this country. I am not a liar. It cost me to belong to this forum. It was not free. You members never have to worry about me telling you anything positive or anything at all, I really question belonging to an organization that is afraid their members will be swindled by a jar of stock restore.

Sorry, but you have grossly misinterpreted the intent of my reply to your posted message, and you have apparently taken unnecessary umbrage. My suggestion for you is to not take everything so serious.

What was it that SGT Hulka said, hmm, Oh right, settle down Francis. Bert likes proof thats all, we all do.

I just use one finger to apply, don’t put it on thick. Two light coats are sufficient. Try it. You will like it. It will shine up an old stock. It won’t remove bumps or scratches, but it will give them character.

I know after the switch to lacquer, you could pay extra for a high gloss oil finish. I was never sure how they did it but suspect they used an oil/varnish mixture.

It's definitely a top notch display, I was in awe looking at it in Cody.

In case anyone's wondering Jim DeRossitt's evolution of Winchester display from the Volcanic to the Henry won his category, best overall and people's choice. We didn't have an award for best candy offering but he probably would have one that, too. Outstanding examples, even an iron framed Henry! Lots of good text and related materials.

Jim even found the time to do some recruiting for WACA with materials at his display. His neighbor at the Cody Show and in Denton had a Rocket Ball display that I found particularly interesting but I seem to have misplaced his name. Just two out of about fifteen outstanding displays.

I’m glad this topic came up. Several years ago I was given a box of “gun stuff” from the wife of a man who had died back in the 1980s. In the box were a few things that I had never seen before… Linspeed being one of them. I wondered if any of the stuff was still being made. Maybe some may recognize this stuff.

I also have a drawer full of things like that i inherited. I use it as necessary. It’s all probably from the 80-90s too

Chuck, I think so. It's a brand of fast drying boiled linseed oil. Brownell's carried it for a half Century and may still.

Sounds like it would dry in a day and a gunsmith could rub out the finish the next day instead of waiting a week like with lacquer or BOL.
