1873man on Model 1873 receiver stamp

I have seen the T and P stamped there. They would be inspection stamps just like the French L or the star on the side of the bolt.

Looks like a capital "T" to me, as in Times New Roman font style...

Interestingly, I have an 1866 rifle with two "punch dots" at the muzzle face...no one on here had any ideas as to what they might have been added for...they of course might no be factory either...

I'm thinking I need to direct this question directly at you, as I'm sure that you will educate us all on this, or possibly give a refresher course.

Here's a stamp on the front of a 73 src,first model, with the forearm off, that my eyes don't want to help me identify.

I'll add the already talked about,and identified, ("CCC"), with the "punch Dot", also.

Any other thoughts or opinions are always welcome. Not sure why the first pics are so large, as I tried to choose a smaller image.

I've seen a few but not lately, they do have different small parts when you compare the two side-by-side, easy to tell them apart as they're not just exact clones.

The Ted Williams Model 100 was introduced late in the year 1964, and was discontinued when the contract between Sears and Winchester was terminated in 1973. There are no serial number records that can be accessed to determine a specific date of manufacture.

I'm trying to find some background on this rifle. It is in excellent condition and I'm trying to narrow down the year of manufacture. Although it is a Sears, Roebuck and Co., Ted Williams Model 100, I understand these were produced by Winchester beginning in either 1963 or 1964.

Ron Stadt, a true gentleman in every sense of the word, used to travel down from Illinois to Ohio, and go to the Ohio Cartridge show, at the motel 6 banquet room, in Medina Ohio, years ago, and was always a pleasure to speak with. I enjoyed meeting our late, mutual acquaintance and Author, and learning from him. I remembered calling him from his card he gave me, inquiring about a shotgun or two, but he said he didn't have anything left, as he was winding down his collection, I assumed.
