I’d like to connect with someone in the Charlotte/ Concord NC area to show them my collection and learn more about them.
I have a near identical full box of 50-95 WCF Shot cartridges.

edit: Forgot to mention, the loaded shells are worth approximately $75 per cartridge.

Roger,

That's a very nice box, and to have the wooden filler pieces is pretty much unheard of!

Thanks for sharing!

Steve,

I think you should send RDB, a PM, and make some sort of agreement, and then report back here with pictures of the Birds you took with the Ole' Camp 50!

I saw the posting of the empty box of shells for sale and wondered what loaded shot shells might be worth? I have a box with 18 loaded shells and two empty cases. The two empty cases appear to never have been fired, but possibly taken apart or added as just primed cases. The primers in the two empty cases have a stamped marking on them, the other 18 primers are blank. The box also has the original wooden spacers included. Thanks for looking. RDB

Long time CMP fan. Took advantage of the Greek returns back in early 2000’s. (Garands & HXP M2 ammo.). Haven’t ordered anything in years, but I remember ordering a SA M1 Collector Grade and received a pristine 5.7 million SA Garand, all greased up in cosmoline. This was back when they shipped them in cardboard boxes with the grey egg crate foam. The FedEx driver smiles & hands it to me and I notice the front 10” of the M1 was punched through the end of the box. I asked him to wait and opened it and did a full inspection. Incredibly it was totally unscathed and I accepted it (incredibly lucky to get a 5.7 mil ) For the life of me I don’t know what kind of buffoonery it would take to duplicate punching the front of an M1 rifle through 3 layers of thick cardboard. SMH. Oh, and I have a Bavarian Forestry Service Carbine too, in the 5.5 mil range.

There was a recent post by Randy 3590 about a scam and losing some money on a gun transaction. I'm here to tell you I almost got ripped off by an outfit called Gun Parts Loaders. Tried to order an item and they came back and said my credit card was full and the transaction could not take place. I immediately cancelled the order, but something must have slipped through the cracks because today the wife said "look at this" and sure enough we were being billed for two orders to a pet store in Florida for almost a hundred and fifty bucks. We got the situation straightened out luckily before we got burned. This post isn't really Winchester related, but I thought I would post it anyway to try and save one of you guys from a bad experience. If you want to delete this Bert, go ahead. RRM

Before you buy anything, go look at what Cameron Packaging of Lima Ohio offers as its Custom Rifle Kit. It consists of a heavy cardboard outer box, three layers of cross-linked foam inserts cut to fit tightly in the box. There is also a large swatch of anti-rust impregnated sheeting, in which the rifle is to be wrapped.

The rifle is laid out on the middle layer of foam and its outline cut out with a razor knife or, more easily, with a hot knife. [Cross-lined foam is what marine docking fenders are made of.]

The middle layer of foam is placed over the bottom layer.

The rifle is wrapped in the anti-rust sheeting and placed into the outlined and cut cavity of the middle layer.

The top layer is placed over the middle layer and the three-layer sandwich is fitted into the box, which is sealed - preferably with hot glue and shipping tape.

These kits are not cheaper than the plastic case you propose to use, but I've never had a firearm damaged in the twenty years I've used them. Even when the box itself was damaged.

Have to ship a 94 carbine and would like to get a proper fitting, inexpensive (if possible) plastic hard case for shipping. I’ll encase this in a cardboard box, but I’m seeing most cases under $50 are 48-50” long and 14-15” wide for a scoped rifle. Would love to find a padded 40” by 10” hard case. Anyone ever go down this rabbit hole? Ps. I rarely ship rifles, hence the confusion.

Any help is appreciated.
