Well I thought I had seen high prices before but today took the cake. I won a nice 1897 Trench gun in auction (https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/scarce!-u.s.-martial-territory-of-hawaii-winchest_32A2DDC51D)and received a notice through shipping saint like I have a hundred times before and fell out of my chair. The shipper wants to charge me $423 for the trench gun, bayonet and a paper weight that is 1lb and 3 inches by 2 inch’s. Both the bayonet and paper weight could easily fit in the box with the Trench gun. Typically I pay $50 to $75 to get a firearm shipped but have paid as much as $150 with some shops but $423. Fellas, Am I losing my mind or is that just an unreasonable fee? AZ to NC in case anyone is wondering.

Harry, not sure what you mean? Everything in my 10 year old Ford works fine. I'm hoping not to get much rain on the way.

My first truck I bought when I got out of the Army. Used 1972 Ford Ranger XLT Camper Special. What a truck! Sold it when we bought a motor home to haul our trailer full of motorcycles and camping gear. Sold the camper for more than what we paid for it.

My old man said he saw about a 10 year old boy messing around the truck at the show and didn't pay him much attention. Next minute he turned around the boy was gone and so was the gas cap. So go figure, easy enough for the boy to put it in his pocket and walk off. The reproduction was easy enough to get and most wouldn't know it a repop.

I can't figure out how to keep the image from rotating but here is that inline 6.

Here's the family's 1951. Pretty much all original straight 6 and still on a 6Volt electrical system. The only thing my dad added a few years back was he finally decided to put an electric fuel pump on it. Shockingly it starts a lot easier now! My dad is the third owner and in the glove box is the receipt where the original owner bought the 51 with a Trade In with this 1925 Model T Ford. Oh and he swapped the wiper blades out but the originals are still in the glove box as well. Dad took it to a car show probably 10 years or so back and some dam kid stole the original gas cap. So its a replacement as well.
Sincerely,
Maverick

Cool of truck!

The 1955 Chevy Apache that I was given also had the same I6 (235 cid) engine, 6-volt electrical (generator), single-barrel Holly carb (with oil bath filter), 3-speed manual (on the column and non-synchronized), and a floor mounted starter. It had a manual choke (that pulled about 8" out of the dash). I wish I still had that old truck today!

Thread reminds me of my first pickup, pretty sure the only option on that 65 F100 was the 352 V8 and a heater. Since I was selling Ford parts at the time I added OE armrests and a RH sun visor and rear-view mirror. Good old truck but I invested a fair bit of knuckle skin and blood in addition to more parts than I can recall, the list of chassis and drivetrain parts I didn't replace is shorter. I took it from 95,000 miles to over 230,000.
