Here are the pictures. One thing caught my eye is the indexing mark on the top of the barrel and the receiver. The only reason for that is if you took the barrel off.

Well the plot thickens. They lowered their rate to $380. Still crazy high so I called in and was speaking to the young lady who answered the phone and questioned the rate. The owner comes on the line and went off on me. He said his Fed Ex rate alone was $120. Possible I suppose but when I told him there are better rates he said it is impossible because he is direct through FedEx. I don’t know if he is stupid, lazy or a liar but I then asked why he was adding over $250 on top of the shipping rate and he said he deserved to make money. Heck, I’m a capitalist and I agree but when I told him that is a ridiculous mark up he told me he would take it back to the auction house and hung up on me. Breaks my heart! In 15 minutes I had googled the closest FFL to the auction house, called them and they agreed to ship it to me for 1/3rd what this clown was trying to charge me. Interestingly the auction house or at least the person I spoke with there didn’t seem to care he is taking advantage of their clients. Makes me wonder if he is kicking back to them and that is part of the reason for the outrageous prices? Happy ending for me though!

Looking at you're avatar it shows you have 3 posts, and it says "member", but under that, "WACA guest". For security reasons, the Guest part won't let you post pics, due to the threat of scammers taking over our site.

It's very possible you are a member in good standing and the WACA powers to be are on the road and getting into Cody, Wyoming for the annual WACA show, and will fix any issues here as soon as they get the chance.

First thing you need to do is get the Cody information on it to make sure it was made with the short barrel. The 7 7/8" forearm would be right for it and 1/16" short is no issue. Wood does shrink and can wear. If your having issues posting pictures you can email them to me at the below address. Also send me the complete serial number and I can check it.

Has anyone ever heard of or dealt with samholly or Liam Karlsson (Liamkarl441@outlook.com)? Samholly responded to my ad looking for a Model 12 bbl, suggesting that I email the other guy, who says he has a bbl at a fair price, but wants payment with an Apple card.

Just doesn't pass the smell test, but I wanted to see if anyone knew either of these guys.

Hello all and thank you for allowing me to post as a guest. I have a 1873 trapper carbine I would like some help with. According to what info I can find the forearm wood is supposed to be 7 and 7/8” on the 14” barrel version. Is it common for wood on a carbine made in 1883 to have shrunk a 16th or so? This carbine has been in and out of a scabbard a lot. I’m just wondering if it’s a common thing to see a 16th of “shrinkage” or wearing away? Serial number 25888XB. 44 WCF. I would post pictures but I can’t figure out how. Barrel markings are in the right place. Barrel bands appear correct. This carbine is supposed to have a Cody letter and some additional info, but sadly that paperwork hasn’t turned up yet. Next question is if I can get this carbine authenticated is it legal for me to sell it? Thank you all

62 here, many an afternoon with the wrist rocket and a bag of marbles for fun. My dad bought an old abandon factory when I was a kid to rehab and he couldn't get the pigeons out with bird shot, took half the old paint off the beams with no progress. Hired me to do it with the wrist rocket and I was silent and deadly!
