I really would have thought an astute collector such as yourself would have noticed all the tang sights that mysteriously vanished from your guns at the last few shows. I learned to be really fast with my Harbor Freight screwdrivers.

Thanks for the compliments, fellows.

Ok, I'll bite. Here is a nice '73 I picked up in Cody. Although the 32 Cal. usually isn't as appealing as a large bore would have been, I really like the case-hardened frame and early graduated peep. Most CC '73's I come across are deluxe guns. This rifle also has a trapdoor butt, normally not found on a 32 Cal. rifle.

Adding to the difficulty is that many of the rifles with longer than standard barrels have been found cut down to a more manageable length.

ARMAX is a Buffalo Bill Historical Center publication. I'd bet one of the researchers went through the available records in the archives. Finding the rifle is the issue.

My "next" endeavor is in full go mode, that is to assemble all the various barrel lengths of the model 1894. I have been selling off some of the "deluxe" '94's I've acquired in order to do this, I do not have unlimited funds. The 1890's I will probably continue to collect , especially in various configuations and upgrade the ones I have, I sure would like the maple stocked one coming up on Poulin's auction. I find the "hunt" very exciting, rather than the "having", which is very satisfying as well. Plus some of the people I meet along the way are some of life's more rewarding experiences.

Henry,

You're quest is admirable! That Maple stocked 1890 sure caught my eye! Good Luck in you're pursuit!
