I’m not saying New Haven is a model city.  It isn’t.  Neither is Hartford, but the Colt museum remains there.

… including looking in The Winchester Book (George Madis) has brought up a few questions. We believe the serial # indicates it should be a "first model rifle" 44 WCF, 24" round or octagon barrel, thumbprint dust cover, forearm cap, our rifle is consistent with that but the barrel measures 20" +/-.

…. 😉 All kidding aside what is it about the 218 Bee? Why wasn’t the 65 chambered in 38 or 44WCF?

Mike

By the time (1933) when the Model 65 was introduced, almost nobody was hunting any game animals with the 44 & 38 WCF cartridges... the 30 WCF, 32 W.S., 270 WCF, and 30-06

Looking for DOM and any other information on a Winchester Model 94 30-30 S/N 2439068

Thanks Bert!

Your Model 94 Carbine was manufactured in the year 1960.  I cannot provide additional information without the benefit of seeing some pictures of it.

…the receiver look fake and out of line, and I think it may be a late 1941 gun.  I don't believe there was a Winchester government contract for the Model 12 until later in 1942.

By the way Larry, I've seen original high condition Model 12 trench guns sell in the last few years for $15,000 - $20
