I have a very nice condition Model 61 22 W.R.F. octagon barrel (and from what I’m told a 1932 first year)…Unfortunately it has 2 mounting holes drilled for a scope that must have been done when my Uncle purchased it new.
I’m not looking for cash (but it would be nice)…I’d like to get my daughter involved in some long range target and was hoping to get a value to see if a possible trade for 2 bolt actions 308 and 223 would be reasonable. (I’ve seen Savage bolt actions with a scope for 450.00 and Remington 700 for $750-$800 range). My original ideal trade would have been for lever action Winchesters…or something like the XPR in 308.
I think and have been told my Winchester is valued at the 1500-2500 range with the holes to a gunsmith who can repair and sell for profit…4k-5k without the holes in the condition its in…that all said the only problem is finding a buyer….(easier said than done).
If anyone is interested in being fair and offering up options for a trade/sale please contact me. (any trades or sales will have to be done via appropriate legal channels).
I can send pictures once I figure out how to on this forum…or email them to anyone interested or if anyone has some real insight on the value for this rifle, I would greatly appreciate any info they might have.
Thanks all
Hello Mike,
Could I please get the serial number of the rifle so that I can add it into my survey of the Model 61 rifles?
