For Heaven’s sake, you don’t know what the book looks like?  If I have to take photos, I might as well list it on ebay.

Sincerely sorry I sounded unfriendly, Darlene.  This classic has been around SO long that I assumed anyone interested in the subject would know all about it, and posting a photo is a LOT of trouble for non-members.  And of course it’s returnable if you don’t like it.

I would like to be second in line if Darlene doesn’t want it.

Thanks.

The Winchester Book has been around since 1961, then 1969, then 1971, 77, 79, 81,  84 and 85.

I first had the ’61, about 2/3s the thickness of the ’77.  Don’t know why Madis continued to call the expanded editions “First Editions,” which they clearly were not–any change in text or photos should make a different ed.

It’s no big deal.  You are right, it is definitely a classic.  I am glad that it all worked out and I am absolutely sure that there will be no need for a refund.  Thank you!

Boy Clarence you got off easy with that transaction. If Ida talked to my “Babe” that way, I’d still be in recovery.Laugh

I don’t plan on buying the book, as I already have a 1st edition, but I am curious as to what the letter is about. Any chance of relaying what it went into?

Sincerely,

Maverick

Hey Mav,

I am gonna post pics of the letter from Madis in the Memorabelia section of the forum.   I think it is more suitable there.  It is in reference to the barrel of the gun being the wrong one but confirms that he believes it to be the original barrel.  Hope you enjoy the read.
