Using this photo of my Model 92 as an example, what is the rule of thumb regarding the range of each elevated notch?  As shown in the lowest notch, the rifle is right on at 50 yards.  Thanks, B

As a guideline I believe the notches are generally 50 yard increments but different loads and bullet weights will affect the bullet’s striking point at a given distance.  If you zero your rifle or carbine for a particular bullet weight and powder charge you could expect each notch to be an increment of 50 yards (as long as you don’t change any cartridge variants) but it would be better to check that out at the range.

Also, Winchester provided different elevators for specific calibers, so you need to know if the elevator in question is the correct one for that caliber.
