Is the front sight on a ramp or dovetailed directly into the barrel? More often than not, an extra lightweight will have a ramp front sight and a 3 leaf express rear sight. Some photos would help and you can send them to [email protected] if you want to.

Thanks for helping with the survey.

Paul,

Yes I got it and appreciate the help. On the 20″, It looks like the checkering was added outside the factory but has been on it for a long time. Any thoughts?

The Cornelius A. Wood Gunbroker rifle was once for sale at Cabelas:

Probably a gift from his father since they were extremely well to do people.

In about 65%+original cond. #2 ser#229454 letter states # applied july 19 1904 cal. 30, rnd. bbl.,  24″, extra lite,  plain trig. pist. grip stock, shotgun butt, rubber butt plate, checkered, oil finish 1/2 mag., It has regular rifle sites and a lyman tang sites. The gun is in about 90%+ original cond. with brilliant case colors and virtually all of the blueing ,(thin in spots),remaining.  Although not mentioned it has xx wood and is so stamped on the tang also the assembly #19943 is stamped on the stock and the lower tang      Henry

Thanks Henry………..both new to the survey. I assume the 24″ has a 9 3/8″ fore end?

Sorry for the late responses, thought I had entered these earlier. I appreciate all the help.

Added to the survey – Thanks deerhunter

Interesting gun w/ at least six special order features, depending on how you count them. A little steep on the price, although how many ’94 shorties do you see with 3/4 mag TD and a lettered Lyman 21? Cool piece.

BTW – the 25-35’s only represent 5.84% of the short rifles I have logged. They are good property indeed.
