Is it too early to start talking about the Cody show? Sending in a table registration this weekend and I’m already getting excited about the road trip and seeing any of y’all that can make it. No, I don’t know why I’m getting a table but my shooting buddy wants some space on it so it should be interesting. I just want a place to kick back and visit a bit. Come to think of it I have a few safe queens that could find new homes to make room for stuff I can shoot and have fun with. I probably haven’t sold or traded a dozen rifles in my life, seems they all just come home with me and stay. Hoping to buy a gun or two but quite honestly I’ve bought too many guns over the last few years so it may be time to thin the herd instead of adding to it.
Enough about me, are you coming? What are you bringing? What are you looking for? Can I borrow about $10K to buy some new toys? 😉 My shooting buddy needs one of Larry and Bert’s books so I may leave mine at home just to make the point, lol.
Nope, it is not too early. I will be there wandering around again. Tell your buddy I won the RedBook Larry and Bert graciously donated for the WACA banquet so he may not even need to buy one……
If you bring some Winchester .22’s for your table I will certainly stop by.
looking forward to seeing everyone there again this year.

I don’t think I’ll have a .22 on my table but I’d like to meet you and shake your hand.
I’ll be there looking for interesting 1895’s or Colts for my wife, the Brand X collector. Last year at Cody, she completely outdid me by finding one of Elmer Keith’s SAA’s with the typical Keith modifications. I sneak into her safe from time to time just to admire that gun.
We love the Cody show for reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. See you there.

I would be honored to shake your hand.
If you don’t bring any .22’s to draw me in you may want to put a sign on your table or badge that says “TXGunNut” so I know who you are. In fact, it would be helpful if all of the forum members had their “forum name” on their table or badges to match faces with online names since some of you guys have some interesting monikers. I am not that creative, JWA are simply my initials.

Hey guys,
I am at the Cody Show every year and will have tables again this year. Somehow, I’ve missed meeting quite a few folks from the forum. We almost need to write our forum names on our badges so we know who we are talking to. It is definitely my favorite show. It just has that family feel and small enough you can go find someone in a short amount of time. I will have my board member badge on, so hopefully not too hard to recognize. I would love to meet some of the fine gentlemen that frequent this forum. Getting excited already.

Last year was my first and I still can’t get over all the fine Winchesters and good folks I saw there. My only regret was that I didn’t bring enough money but that’s probably just as well. I hope I can keep my shooting buddy healthy and out of trouble with his better half so he can make it this year. He’s pretty much forgiven me for aggravating him by texting pics from the show last year, I got him some WACA SWAG and that helped a little, lol.
I’ve been using my screen name for about ten years but most folks I know aren’t aware of it. One friend even read one of my posts to me when he was researching something, had no idea I’d written it.
I like the idea of putting our nom de plume on name tags and such, will do.
I’m looking forward to the show this year. I was sorry to miss it last time and it’ll be good to see Winchester collecting wild-men Gary and Bert again, along with meeting other old friends and hopefully some new ones. It’s always a great learning opportunity to see everything, along with participating in the discussions.

Hmmm…the trade bait pool is growing. Looking forward to meeting you, Brad. And Mark, I have a flat-sided 1895 that will probably make the trip with me. That and a 3rd Gen Colt 4 5/8 in 45 your better half may like. Have a few post 64 SRC’s that I might as well part with, maybe even that commemorative that I had a little fun with. And then there’s that “special” 94 hanging over my gun safe…
It’s frustrating that I have so many interesting guns that I’ve lost interest in. My post ’64 SRC’s are too nice to take hunting or shooting, they grace my fireplace mantle on special occasions but seldom get out other than that. I’ve coined the term “curse of the 98% gun”. Can’t hunt with it, can’t shoot it, can’t work on it….what good is it to me?
Shooting buddy will have an 1873, maybe an 1892 and likely a sweet 94 or two. No idea, poor guy’s been under the weather for a week or two and before that was nursing his wife thru a stubborn bug.
Staying at the Irma again. I love that place! I roll out of bed when I smell the coffee and I love the historic feel. Stayed at the Menger in San Antonio earlier this month and showed the bartender there some pics of the cherrywood bar @ Irma’s.

I’m looking forward to spending time at your table. It’ll be nice to put a face to your moniker. I’ll make sure to bring my “much” better half along with me.

Don’t get too excited about my old mug, Mark. There will be much better things to gaze upon that weekend in Cody, I can assure you! Looking forward to meeting you and the better half.
Finally mailing off the registration form tomorrow, our faithful Trish mailed a WACA table cover to me today. Will start work tonight on an itinerary that includes a day at Whittington Center in Raton on the way up.
Have I mentioned I’m looking forward to the Cody show?
